We are a coalition of civic, religious, business and community organizations in Sarasota and Manatee counties having the mission: To create and maintain a community of conscience calling for action to stop genocide in Darfur and throughout the world. We represent Manatee and Sarasota Counties on the Florida Gulf Coast. We are dedicated to enjoying our environment and preserving it for future generations.

What does Food Not Bombs do? * Distributes free vegetarian food to anyone who wants a hot meal. * Provides literature tables to empower people with information about hunger, health, peace and justice. * Provides hot meals at to protests and events. * Organizes creative actions to end war and poverty

The main goal of justice ministry is to foster community wide action on the problems of individuals and families, so that such issues as poverty, crime, sickness, housing, education, and environmental degradation may be lessened, and education and economic opportunities may be expanded.

The South West Florida Coalition for Peace and Justice (SWFCPJ) works to build a more peaceful and just world by: * Serving as the umbrella organization for a growing number of local groups working for this objective. * Sponsoring discussions, vigils and other events to raise awareness of social issues. * Presenting a unified and more powerful voice for peace to the public and to elected officials. * Recognizing outstanding contributions by those working to advance a culture of peace and nonviolence. * Encouraging groups to network and share resources whenever possible.

TRANSITION FLORIDA is a social network for those in The Sunshine State seeking to rebuild local community resilience and self-reliance in the face of peak oil, climate change, and economic crisis. This means reconnecting with each other and the earth, reskilling ourselves, revitalizing local agriculture, reclaiming our local economy, and reenvisioning our collective future.

The Environmental and Peace Education Center (EPEC) is a non-profit community grassroots education and advocacy organization in Southwest Florida.

The purpose of the organization is to promote global peace by addressing environmental and social justice issues locally and individually. We do this through educational programs such as conferences, demonstrations, youth peace camps, publication of our newsmagazine Just Peace, and through any other creative non-violent means available.

St Pete for Peace, a non-partisan anti-war group founded in January 2003, brings awareness to the atrocities our government is committing in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Palestine, and Iraq. We support the people of Latin America as they fight for equality and basic human rights. We say "No" to foreclosures and the government sponsored bailouts of Wall Street and the U.S. banking system. We are against police brutality and support efforts to house and feed the homeless.
