The Peace Education and Action Center connects and empowers people to build a socially just, non-violent and sustainable community and world.
PEACenter Vision
The Peace Education and Action Center is a central hub for community organizing; providing education and resources to those working to bring about positive social change and inspiring actions that support a more peaceful and just world. We foster a culture of peace through education; promoting sustainable economic and social development; promoting respect for all human rights; ensuring equality for all people; fostering democratic participation; advancing understanding, tolerance and solidarity; supporting participatory communication and the free flow of information and knowledge; promoting international peace and security; and supporting independent artists and musicians.

Currently, the Peace Education and Action Center:

Maintains an active library of materials related to peace and peace education, nonviolence, social justice, diversity and environmental sustainability

Sponsors Activist Tuesdays at the Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center

Maintains a website with current relevant information and links to other organizations

Distributes a bi-monthly e-newsletter

Sponsors educational, musical and cultural events, sometimes in collaboration with other community groups

Sponsors workshops and community dialogues on a variety of timely issues with particular emphasis on the skills and philosophy of nonviolence and building a Culture of Peace
