Campaign Nonviolence
Campaign Nonviolence is a long-term grassroots movement for a culture of peace and nonviolence free from war, poverty, racism, environmental destruction and the epidemic of violence.
Each year, we invite people and organizations in the U.S. and worldwide to take action during our annual CNV Action Week around the International Day of Peace, September 21. This is our sixth year organizing actions and we are hoping to mobilize over 2000 actions, marches and events across the U.S. covering all fifty states and beyond to take a strong stand for justice, disarmament and peace.
We hope you will join us for these upcoming events!

MOVING INTO ACTION, A CULTURE OF NONVIOLENCE AND AN END TO WAR, POVERTY, RACISM, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESTRUCTION.
From Sept 21 to Oct 2, 2022, (Int’l Day of Peace to Int’l Day of Nonviolence) join tens of thousands of people in calling for a culture rooted in nonviolence. From renewable energy to housing for all, we’re connecting the dots between the issues and proposing a bold vision for nonviolent solutions to our pressing crises.

For 9 years, Campaign Nonviolence has organized an unprecedented movement for a culture of peace and active nonviolence. In September, 2021, people held over 4,000 actions, events and marches across the USA and in 20 countries. Over 60,000 people participated in these events. This year, we’re inviting the movement to deepen and focus, shifting our dates to stretch from Int’l Day of Peace (Sept 21) to Int’l Day of Nonviolence (Oct 2) as we build a culture of peace and nonviolence.

Recognizing that violence comes in many forms, we’re acting in solidarity with the efforts to prevent gun violence, halt the climate crisis, stop racist police brutality, eliminate nuclear weapons, divest from fossil fuels and weapons, guarantee food and shelter for all, protect the water, land, and air from destruction and pollution, and more.

In 2022, in addition to our usual practice of welcoming your events and ideas for actions, we’re inviting you to participate in specific calls-to-action for each day. Organize vigils for peace, teach-ins on nonviolence, camp-outs for housing justice, visibility actions for watershed protections, flash blockades for utility justice, divest from violence bank actions, and much more! (See the list below)

Local groups are encouraged to pick 1-3 actions. (We don’t expect you to do ALL of these!) To support these actions, our staff are organizing monthly calls and regular trainings throughout the year. Organizations are welcome to co-sponsor and/or endorse specific actions or the entire Action Days schedule.

We encourage everyone to plan a local Campaign Nonviolence March on Sat, Oct 1st, uplifting the vision of a world beyond violence and a culture rooted in nonviolence. Reach out to all your local groups and invite them to join in. Bring together the many issues, movements, and efforts working to end violence and advance nonviolent solutions.

Local Campaign Nonviolence organizers can promote participation by inviting local chapters of other organizations to take the lead in planning a local action on the days that relate to their specific focus and mission. For example, you can reach out to climate justice groups to take action on World Rivers Day, or support School Strikes, etc.
