On January 21, 2010, with its ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, the Supreme Court ruled that corporations are persons, entitled by the U.S. Constitution to buy elections and run our government.

We, the People of the United States of America, reject the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United and other related cases, and move to amend our Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.
The Supreme Court is misguided in principle, and wrong on the law. In a democracy, the people rule.

2016 Goal
Target candidates for local, state and federal office to get their position on record re: the We the People Amendment and make this an election issue. Recruit 165 candidates to sign the Pledge to Amend.

We use petitions to publicly show our growing strength and numbers, to submit to elected officials at the federal, state, and local levels to show how many of their constituents are calling for an amendment, and most importantly to organize and mobilize. Petition signers get Move to Amend updates, and opportunities to engage and get active with the campaign.

The Manasota Move to Amend Leadership Team currently has six members.  If you are passionate
about this issue, we'd love to have
you join us.
