EVENT TO HELP END VIOLENCE
FOCUSES ON TEEN RELATIONSHIPS: FOOTBALL COACH TO LEAD
WORKSHOP AT V-DAY EVENT
Both high school students and adults are invited to attend this year’s event which will focus on healthy relationships.
Teens workshops include “Drawing the Line: When Yes Means Yes” led by therapist April Lambert, and “Living Above the Noise: Media, TV, and Movies Uncensored” led by Chris Hill, the Out-of-Door Academy’s Varsity Football Coach. Adults will focus on their own healthy relationships with workshops from both Safe Place and Rape Crisis Counseling (SPARCC) titled “Red Flags: What to Look for in Unhealthy Relationships,” and April Lambert leading “Repairing the Damage: Help Yourself, Your Teen, or Your Loved One Recover.”
Other highlights will be keynote speeches by L’Tanya Evans, Academic Dean at the Out-of-Door Academy and Football Coach Chris Hill, and a performance by Megha – Nancy Buttenheim on a young girl’s experience of sexual misconduct at a sports camp.
The Power of Love will conclude with the international V-Day dance, Break the Chain.
